The Reverend Debra  Mann Fludd


Debra Mann Fludd was born on in Belhaven, North Carolina.  She moved to
Norwalk at the age of 2 with her parents, Leslie & Harriet Mann of Norwalk,
Connecticut.

Debra accepted the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at the age of twelve (12).  She
was Baptized at Calvary Baptist Church, Norwalk, Connecticut by The late Rev.
Dr. Samuel J. Williams, Pastor.  At Calvary she served on the Willing Workers
Club and sang in the choir.  Debra has continued her walk with the Lord.  Debra
united with the New Light Missionary Baptist Church June 4, 1989.  She was
welcomed into the Diaconate Fellowship as a Deacon-In-Training on May 3,
1996 and was ordained as a Deacon on October 26, 1997. Debra is also a
licensed Missionary.

Debra attended Norwalk public Schools.  Upon graduation she was blessed with
a job at the Norwalk Hospital where she is presently employed as Office
Manager of the Radiology Department, and has been for the past 30 years.  
Debra united in marriage  with Mr. George Fludd on June 4th, 1988.  They are  
the proud parents of Andre Brown, Danye Brown and Georgette Shivers,
granddaughter, Alexis Shivers, and two God Children, DeAndre Joseph Horton
Williams, and Imani Attaliah Hardie.  For the past several years Debra and
George has been blessed to have the opportunity to parent Nicole Leach and
William Leach.

Debra is the second eldest of five children:  A brother, Joseph E. Mann, and
three sisters, Mary O. Mann, Veronica A. Mann and Lorrie E. Mann, all of
Norwalk, Connecticut.

Debra Fludd currently serves at New Light as a Missionary, a Deacon, a Trustee
and Church Treasurer and as Administrative Assistant to Pastor Joubert.  She
also serves as Lay Leader of the Sister’s Fellowship, Temple Keeper, Sunday
School & Vacation Bible School Teacher, Lay Leader of the Collation
Fellowship, Drama Fellowship, Baptismal Assistant and as a member of the New
Light Cathedral Choir.  

Debra is appreciative and thankful to her Pastor & Teacher, the Rev Dr. Phillip
Charles Joubert, Sr.  Under his leadership and guidance she has been inspired,
encouraged & guided to reach higher heights through the Holy Spirit.  

Debra has attended many women’s retreats and training sessions, including
New York State Baptist Conventions, National Baptist Conventions, Connecticut
State Missionary Baptist Conventions, Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship
Nationally and Internationally.  She currently serves as Foreign Mission
Chairperson of the Connecticut State Missionary Baptist Convention and
teaches at the convention as well. She has served as 2nd Vice President of the
Women’s Department of the Progressive National Convention.  She is a
graduate of Hartford Seminary’s Black Ministries Certificate Program (June
1997).  She was awarded the Norwalk Hospital Chairman’s Award for Excellence
and Service in 1987 and 1990. Debra actively participates in Foreign Mission
work in Barbados, Trinidad & Tobago and Jamaica, West Indies.

Debra believes that if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can touch
the untouchable, move the unmoveable, reach the unreachable, and that you
can conquer anything.

God is doing a New Thing at the New Light Missionary Baptist Church and as a
humble servant she feels Blessed to be in the number. Debra loves and serves
the Lord with all of her heart, all of her soul and with all of her strength.
